Ozzie

ozzieOzzie has been a resident of our office since 2010. He came in as a patient with a suspected urinary obstruction, but it was ultimately determined that he had a lower spinal injury which affected his ability to urinate on his own. Due to the injury, his tail needed to be amputated, which gives him the bob-tail look that so many of our clients notice and admire. Unfortunately, Ozzie's injury also prevented us from being able to express and empty his bladder without sedation. Luckily, Ozzie adjusted incredibly well to a daily routine of gas sedation to have his bladder emptied. His injury affected the nerves in his bladder as well, and since he has no sensation or urge to urinate, he has become accustomed to having his bladder emptied once each day. Weekends, holidays and even during inclement weather, someone makes it to the clinic to take care of Oz! Ozzie enjoys wearing little costumes and decorative collars and can frequently be seen sitting on the counter greeting clients or napping on his scratch-post chaise.
